Harry Danyluck and Red Jackson, both members at the time, ready the barrel for the "Barrel Race" event. The barrel is placed in the S. Thompson river at the Pine St. bridge in chase. The time it takes to float to Pritchard (10km) is recorded. The person who bought a ticket in advance with the closest matching time was the winner of a cash prize. This event was in June 1996.
