CHARTER NIGHT: Identify a need and fill it. In 1968 a group of people in Chase did just that. They identified the need for a volunteer group to go out into the community to raise money for charities, assist our youth, help the sick and disabled and improve the amenities of Chase and
Shuswap area. To fill this need twenty men formed the Chase Lions club. The charter members were: Art Austin - Charter President, Harvey White - Charter Secretary; Howard Caldwell. Erwin Esslinger, Vern Figenshaw, Allen Gorham, Wilson Humphries, Eugene Larue, Frank Shelest, Jim Van, Walter Christ, Garth Hamilton,
Harry Fast, Jake Frank, Gerhard Kahrmann, Harold Rose, Robert Smith, Robert Solosth, Tom Stevenson and Jim Willey. Charter night was Saturday January 13, 1968.
